No Need to Rush
As each year winds down, you will begin to hear the question: What are your goals for the new year? Though usually well-meaning, I noticed that it sends so many of us into an anxiety-ridden spiral toward rushed goals and aspirations.
Today, I offer this to you…THERE IS NO RUSH. The season of winter is meant to be a slower time of rest, resetting, and recalibration. You don’t have to just take my word for it. You can pause and view how nature behaves. There is shedding, pausing, and preparation for the period of growth…Springtime!
Allow your body and mind to ease into the new year at your own pace. You will find there is greater clarity in slow mornings and easeful days. I do realize that this is easier said than done as I survey the way society encourages us to move, but I have faith that you can set a new normal in your life and community.
